A Quick Retrospective: T-Pain and Drank

T-Pain

As they always say, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Such can be said with T-Pain. I must admit, when he arrived on the scene back in 2005 with “I’m Sprung” I figured he would be a quick fad that would roll in and right back out of the music atmosphere (kinda like Yung Berg) but here we are in 2009 and Teddy Pain is still going on strong. Like him or not, T-Pain has pulled together an amazing resume of hits that in your drunkest moment you may find yourself singing at the top of your lungs (for myself, namely “I’m On a Boat”). As Jamie Foxx’s “Blame It” finally starts fading from radio airplay, I wanted to take the time to look back on a subject Teddy seems to nail awesomely every time: Alcohol.

T-Pain has always been a fan of drankin’, especially feeding the ladies alcohol.

Of course, club-going women aren’t his only objects of his affection. He’s even after (female) bartenders…

When the bartender’s not giving him anymore play.. he’s back at the womens in the club…

And when it’s all in said and done.. hey, just blame it on the al-a-a-a-al…….

Basically what I’m saying is… I love T-Pain’s songs about drinking. It’s definitely a niche he’s got to exploit over and over again until he’s whack at it. Look at it like Weird Al and food – sure, “Since You’ve Been Gone” was an awesome line drive, but “Eat It” is still a homerun out the park.
