“Love On A Two-Way Street” is the sample behind Jay-Z’s current banger “Empire State of Mind”, released in March 1970. Prior to the song’s release, The Moments enjoyed moderate success with songs like “Not on the Outside” and “My Confession of Love”. Then came “Love On A Two-Way Street”, which shot the group to #1 on the Billboard R&B chart and remained there for 5 weeks straight. The song would later be covered by Stacy Lattishaw, and if you’ve ever listened to the Art Laboe Sunday show you KNOW this song.
