Through the Wire - Bill Plympton

I caught this on the blog feed earlier this week. It seems Kanye West and Bill Plympton, one of my favorite animators, got together to create an awesome piece that illustrates each of the lyrics from Ye’s first album (College Dropout). I’ll let the homie ICE tell you about it more…

Kanye West collaborates with Academy Award-nominated animator, cartoonist, and illustrator Bill Plympton to release his third book (second in as many months) Through The Wire. Titled after his first single, the book is a graphic memoir that illustrates the lyrics of 12 songs from the self proclamed Louis Vuitton Don from becoming a college dropout to his infamous car accident that would be the catalyst in his rise to stardom. Through The Wire is due out Nov. 10th but can be pre ordered @ Amazon.com.

So far it looks like a dope project that’s definitely worth a look.

Rather trying trying to explain the background of these headphones, I’ll just say that it’s a three way collaboration between Aerial7, METHAPHIBIAN and SBTG. You can read up on FRESHNESS. Early x-mas gift for SG, anyone? ;)

It’s like halfway to being an official shirt of the Doperad DJs…Yeah it’s damn nerdy but I wear weird shit sometimes.  Cop the shirt over at Despair dot com (available in men’s and women’s sizes).

I Want One: Pow! Chain

Ambush Pow Chain

I saw it on Hypebeast and a I had to post it on the blog…

As the signature piece of the AMBUSH brand– originally seen over a series of rings– the iconic “POW” design makes an appearance in chain form as seen here. Attached to a long chain, the three-dimensional design is seen in silver and made exclusively in Japan. Available now at Liquor, woman & tears.

I would definitely rock the POW! at a Doperad gig. Stay tuned to see if actually cough up the funds for one of these bad boys in the near future.

Gearing up for the 2009 Basketball Hall of Fame Enshrinement ceremony, Nike has released an interactive website chronicling Air Jordan from 1985 to today. Ranging from the signing of Dwayne Wade to the brand to Mars Blackmon. If you’re a fan of Michael Jordan, or sneakers, or awesome interactive websites, check out the link.

Bapex Clear Watch - Green

I typically have a love/hate relationship with Bape. I think Bape comes out with fresh gear, but I can’t bring myself to want to pay $800 for a hoodie. That being said… I’m sorry but this watch is straight doperad.

I Want One! Marc Ecko Star Wars Hoodie

Marc Ecko Star Wars Hoodies

Check these bad boys out…

Marc Ecko has got a set of Star Wars hoodies coming out in October and from the pictures they look freakin’ sweet. I got dibs on the Rebel pilot hoodie… I’ve always wanted to be Wedge Antilles – I just lay in the cut and blast fools without being a focal point for the defense to blast. Seriously, Wedge had it good. He got to blast imperial troops and helped blow up shit, without getting frozen in carbonite and without getting his hand chopped off. But I digress.

Check out the Ecko website for more from this series.
