The video is hilarious but awesome, just as I had envisioned… the Party Rockin’ crew always brings the high energy.

A friend put me up on a dope Thursday night event at Yoshi’s SF featuring DJ Shred One + weekly guests.  After doing a little searching online, I found this mix  that’ll make you wanna get up, close your eyes and snap your fingers.  Or if you’re better at dancing than I am, you’ll wanna do a little more than just that.  If this night is anything like this mixtape, I’ll be doing a lot of dancing when I check out the spot in two weeks.

LOVESPACE: a musical journey through love songs in the soulful rhythms of boogie, discofunk, and house provided by DJs Shred One + Roza.

Head over to their blog for a full tracklisting, and info on these two dope DJs.  You’ll learn a thing or two.

Complex Magazine loves to do these lists, and although nobody can ever agree on what is really the best movie of the decade; The #1 movie on this list is AWESOME.  That said, check out the list for yourself and see how you would rank the movies.

And Now for Something Completely Different…

October 19th, 2009
and-now-for-something-completely-different

It’s Monday morning! That means here on DOPERAD.COM we’re going to have a gang of updates with a new Monday mix, and several new musical posts. You know, blog stuff. I’ve been seriously lagging on the musics but I’ll have several new music uploads today so don’t trip.

Just to show you how serious I am on the updates, here’s a video gem for you all. You know Star Trek? You know that species that’s like our worst enemies? Klingon. Yeah, them. Well, hardcore trekkies (and I mean hardcore) have taken the language the Klingons speak and actually made a language with it. Not exactly news.. Klingon as a language has been around for years. However, this may be the first Klingon rap I’ve ever heard.

So here is Eminem’s “Without Me”, rapped in Klingon.

Rappers get all the chicks, I swear.

Throwback Thursdays – Naughty By Nature – Uptown Anthem

October 15th, 2009

This week we’ll feature Naughty by Nature who coincidentally are featured on my soon-to-be-posted 90s mix!  One of my favorite songs from them is Uptown Anthem (from the Juice soundtrack) which I heard a lot on the radio back in the day, but really stuck in my brain due to repeated listenings of Funkmaster Flex’s 60 Minutes of Funk Vol II.
Via wikipedia:
Naughty by Nature is a Grammy Award-winning American hip hop group that at the time of its formation in 1989 consisted of Treach, Vin Rock, and the DJ Kay Gee. The group formed in East Orange, New Jersey (colloquially referred to as “Illtown” in the 1980s). The group first appeared on the music scene in 1989 releasing an album called Independent Leaders under their then name the New Style. The album generated the minor hit “Scuffin’ Those Knees”. After the release of their first album, the group was mentored by fellow New Jersey native Queen Latifah, and subsequently changed its name.
They also perform WWE Executive Vice President of Global Media Shane McMahon’s entrance song “Here Comes the Money”.
