Fake Blood is an alias used by DJ Touché, also half of The Black Ghosts (which Touché has remixed under the Fake Blood alias). His original productions included two major club hits, “Mars” and “Blood Splashing (Fake Blood Theme)”. In 2009, He released the “Fix Your Accent” EP, including the original tracks “The Dozens”, “I Think I Like It”, and “Fix Your Accent”. He has done remixes for Dan Le Sac, Armand van Helden, The Count & Sinden, UNKLE and others.

Yet another song that I am over a year late on.  I can’t help it, I’ve got this song on repeat all day!  According to wikipedia, Hercules and Love Affair is a New York music project featuring DJ Andy Butler and Kim Ann Foxman signed to DFA Records.  Enjoy the song.

I guess I’m about a year late on this track but too F’n bad.  Says Wikipedia:

CSS is a Brazilian rock band from São Paulo. The band was labeled as part of the explosion of the New Rave scene. Their songs are in both English and Portuguese. CSS is an acronym for Cansei de Ser Sexy, literally “I got tired of being sexy” in Portuguese.

The Passion Pit seems to have really exploded on the scene this year following the release of Manners , their first full length studio album.  Their live shows, according to wikipedia, have been well received – they’ve opened for bands such as Death Cab for Cutie, RJD2, Girl Talk, and These New Puritans.

I’ve been feeling their track The Reeling lately, and I decided to .rar up a bunch of the remixes that I collected from the interwebs.  The Calvin Harris remix might be my new favorite song…that bassline is so catchy!

The past few months I’ve seen a number of Vanguards remixes start floating around the interwebs, and then I noticed that Big Syphe posted up a link to a zip file of a collection of their remixes.  I liked most of them, and figured I’d do a little digging.  A bit more about them:

VANGUARDS (DJ Kemo, Big Syphe, Vago, hAZEL, Don Cristo and Fac) are a production team to be reckoned with. With over 15 years of combined musical experience, VANGUARDS are respected for creating energetic music from (yet, not limited to) Hip-Hop R&B/Soul, Reggae, Reggaeton and House.

I looked at some of their old productions, and it turns out that they not only produced worldwide chart smasher “Dangerous” by Kardinal Offishall – DJ Kemo also produced one of my favorite slept-on songs: Rascalz – “Top of the World” from way back in 2000.

Check out this collection of Vanguards productions and be on the lookout for this group of talented producers to reach even higher levels of success.
