A friend put me up on a dope Thursday night event at Yoshi’s SF featuring DJ Shred One + weekly guests.  After doing a little searching online, I found this mix  that’ll make you wanna get up, close your eyes and snap your fingers.  Or if you’re better at dancing than I am, you’ll wanna do a little more than just that.  If this night is anything like this mixtape, I’ll be doing a lot of dancing when I check out the spot in two weeks.

Case of the Mondays is actually a mix series done by DJ CQ for Primer Radio, featuring all of our favorite throwback hits – usually with a theme to allow CQ to flip it on us all creatively styled.   Last week’s mix was a Death Row vs. Bad Boy megamix which definitely inspired me to dig in the crates for some forgotten hits (Mase – The Player Way…damn I forgot about that track!).

This week, I’ve chosen another mix from San Diego DJ Chris Cutz, however this one isn’t the typical club scene type of mix that one would expect from the crew running things around SD.  This mix is laced with cuts from Cypress Hill, Los Hermanos Latinos, Willie Colon, Ozomalti, and more…it has a really dope Latin vibe to it and I highly recommend that you download it.

Thee Mike B is a regular at the dope Hollywood spots and Las Vegas spots, traveling as part of the Undisputed Artists DJ camp, so you know dude has a lot of talent behind the decks.

That is what makes mixes like these so much fun to listen to, because it allows DJs to really show off their musical knowledge and gives us a glimpse of what they like to listen to when they’re not essentially forced to play popular hip hop and top-40 music at clubs.

This mix has lots of Disco, Deep House, Acid House, New Electro, Rock, etc and it’s best described (to me) as appropriate for “night driving, introspection, and letting the songs breathe.”
