Just wanted to share these 3 downloads that I recently found on my travels across the interwebs. Super quality tracks that should be part of every hip hop lover’s crates.
Eminem’s latest single to hit radio is FIRE…Produced by Dr. Dre, this song brings back some of that old angry Eminem sound…does anyone else think this sorta sounds a little Wu-Tangish?
Power 106 radio personality Jeff G has uploaded a bunch of old broadcasts of the Old Skool Show at noon to his blog, including this one featuring DJ Rawn. This mix features nothing but DJ Premier produced bangers, so check out this 40+ minute live HIP HOP broadcast…
Timbaland laces us with a familiar-yet-dope-sounding beat, and he’s joined by Miss Keri Babaaaay and Jigga on this one. I agree with TheRapUp, this is a nice jiggy track.

This week we’ll feature Naughty by Nature who coincidentally are featured on my soon-to-be-posted 90s mix! One of my favorite songs from them is Uptown Anthem (from the Juice soundtrack) which I heard a lot on the radio back in the day, but really stuck in my brain due to repeated listenings of Funkmaster Flex’s 60 Minutes of Funk Vol II.
Via wikipedia:
Naughty by Nature is a Grammy Award-winning American hip hop group that at the time of its formation in 1989 consisted of Treach, Vin Rock, and the DJ Kay Gee. The group formed in East Orange, New Jersey (colloquially referred to as “Illtown” in the 1980s). The group first appeared on the music scene in 1989 releasing an album called Independent Leaders under their then name the New Style. The album generated the minor hit “Scuffin’ Those Knees”. After the release of their first album, the group was mentored by fellow New Jersey native Queen Latifah, and subsequently changed its name.
…
They also perform WWE Executive Vice President of Global Media Shane McMahon’s entrance song “Here Comes the Money”.
Noreaga aka N.O.R.E. is always droppin some hip hop grimey ass joints…here’s the latest one. Remember to check out my N.O.R.E. post from a few months ago which features some of my favorite early Noreaga releases…
The past few months I’ve seen a number of Vanguards remixes start floating around the interwebs, and then I noticed that Big Syphe posted up a link to a zip file of a collection of their remixes. I liked most of them, and figured I’d do a little digging. A bit more about them:
VANGUARDS (DJ Kemo, Big Syphe, Vago, hAZEL, Don Cristo and Fac) are a production team to be reckoned with. With over 15 years of combined musical experience, VANGUARDS are respected for creating energetic music from (yet, not limited to) Hip-Hop R&B/Soul, Reggae, Reggaeton and House.
I looked at some of their old productions, and it turns out that they not only produced worldwide chart smasher “Dangerous” by Kardinal Offishall – DJ Kemo also produced one of my favorite slept-on songs: Rascalz – “Top of the World” from way back in 2000.
Check out this collection of Vanguards productions and be on the lookout for this group of talented producers to reach even higher levels of success.
It looks like this isn’t going to be on Blueprint 3, but I think it should be. I have serious doubts that Jay-Z is going to blow up the dubstep sound on a commercial level, but I think it’s a cool song anyway. Eve outdoes him though on her new track. Just sayin.
