Mariah Carey, a.k.a. “I’m Mary Poppins, B”, has always had a knack for urban hip hop radio-friendly remixes of her R&B joints, like when she redid her smash single “Fantasy” and enlisted the Ol’ Dirty Bastard, or threw Ma$e and the Lox on her remix of “Honey”, or my personal favorite, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony on “Breakdown”, or… okay, you get the point. Mimi loves remixing her songs. Can we just get it right the first time, Mariah??
In this latest joint, Mariah enlists the help of longtime collaborator and friend Jermaine Dupri to spice up “H.A.T.E.U.”, to the tune of Ghosttown DJs’ “My Boo”, which was a So So Def hit for Jermaine back in 1996.
