It’s been a minute since my last blog post so I thought I’d get back into the swing of things with this new T.I. track.
T.I.’s been falling off my radar as of late – arguably Rihanna comes harder on her verse in “Live Your Life” than him, and “Whatever You Like”‘s delivery was “meh”, but at least production has been solid – but with this one latest track some of that rawness comes back with Akon singing the hook. It’s becoming more apparent every passing year that Justin Timberlake is this generations’ Michael Jackson and Timbaland is this generations Quincy Jones. This funk laden track entitled “If I” featuring T.I. that just hit the blogosphere helps proves the point. Justin belts out falsetto notes about the classy ladies in the club and Timbaland supplies the driving bass line. However, the most surprising part of this song is Tip singing a little bit at the end of the track. Download the track below and get ready to hear this song all through 2009.
